Preparation:Wash the pears. Peel them, cut them in 4 pieces and take out the middle. |

Cooking:In a large pot put together the water, sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, and cloves. |

Add the pears and bring to boil again. |

Lower to medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. |

Serving:Let the pear compote cool for 10 min. |
