1 tbsp Granulated sugar

180 g Cold butter, cut in pieces

12 tbsp Ice cold water

1,5 kg Apples, peeled and sliced

30 g Butter

1 tbsp Corn starch

Freshly squeezed juice from 1 lemon

Pie Crust:In a bowl mix the flour, salt, sugar and cold butter. |

Place the dough on the kitchen counter and knead it by hand. |

Cover both balls with food foil and place them in the fridge for at least 30 min. If you are in a hurry you can put them in the freezer for 15 min. |

Apple Filling:Put the apples in a bowl, add the lemon juice, spices and mix them until the spices distribute evenly. |

In a large pot melt the butter. |

Dissolve the corn starch in a little water. |

Add the apples and the corn starch to the butter. |

Stew the apples for a short while (10-15 min) until they soften, but are not completely soft. |

Remove from heat and let them cool. |

Preparation:Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius. |

Pie Crust:Take one dough out of the fridge. |

Repeat with the second dough. |

Transfer one of the pie crusts on the pie baking pan. If there are hanging edges you can trim them with a knife or scissors. |

Place the pan in the fridge for a few minutes. |

Take out the dough. |

Put the apple filling over the pie crust. |

Place the second dough on top of the apple filling. |

Brush the second pie crust with the rest of the egg-milk mixture. |
