2 large pears | |
1/2 cup butter, softened | |
1 1/2 cup brown sugar | |
2 eggs | |
1 vanilla | |
1/2 tsp almond extract | |
2 cups flour all purpose | |
2 tsp baking soda | |
1 tsp ground cinnamon | |
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg | |
1/4 tsp ground cloves | |
1/2 cup almonds, chopped |
Directions
1.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until mixture is light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla, almond extract, and pears.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Mix the contents of both bowls together.

Stir in chopped almonds. Spread mixture in a well-greased springform pan.

Cut the pears in half. Cut the halves on slices to get 8 pieces.
Set the pear pieces on the cake forming a nice circle.

Bake in preheated 300 degree F oven for 70-80 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let the pie stand in the pan for 20 minutes. Put it on a wire rack to cool completely.
