Ingredients

180 g semi-sweet chocolate
300 g chestnuts, grated
6 tbsp butter
70 g granulated sugar
2 ½ tbsp brandy, optional
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the chocolate coating:
400 g white or dark chocolate
130 g cocoa powder

Instructions

Melt chocolate in a double boiler or a bowl over simmering water. Stir until melted, remove from heat and allow to cool.

Mix together the butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add grated chestnuts, vanilla and brandy. Mix well. Then stir in the cooled chocolate and blend well.

If mixture is too soft to shape, chill for several minutes. Roll into balls.

To coat, melt the chocolate as before and let cool a little. Carefully roll the truffles in melted chocolate and allow to dry for several minutes.

Dust each truffle with cocoa.
