300 - 500 g Lasagna

800 - 900 g Beef, minced

60 g Butter

1 Onion, chopped

3 Carrots, grinded

500 g Tomato puree

200 mL Red wine

250 g Mozzarella cheese, grinded

60 g Parmigiano, grated

5 - 6 Bay leaves

Beef sauce:Peel and chop the onion. |

On medium heat, melt the butter in a cooking pot. |

Add the onion and carrot and cook them until the onion becomes transparent. Be careful not to burn it. |

Add the minced beef, season it with salt and pepper, and cook everything until the beef becomes brownish. |

Add the wine, and increase the heat. Mix with a wooden spoon. |

Once the wine evaporates, add the tomato puree, bay leaves and nutmeg (if using). |

Cook the beef mixture for at least 30 min while stirring occasionally. |

Lasagna:In a pot, bring to boil approximately 2 L of water. |

Add the lasagna one by one, and cook them for 2 min each. If you put more than one at once, keep them apart so they will not stick to each other. |

After cooking put the lasagna in a dish with cold water. |

Preparation:Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. |

Assembling:Cover the bottom of the baking pan (40 cm x 20 cm) with with a few spoons of béchamel sauce. |

Put the lasagna on top of the béchamel sauce, cover it with beef mixture, and at the end add a few spoons of béchamel sauce. Repeat until you use all the beef mixture. |

Finish layering with lasagna, and cover it with béchamel sauce. |

Put the grinded mozzarella cheese on the béchamel sauce. Add the parmigiano. |

Baking:Bake the lasagna for approximately 30 - 45 min in a preheated oven. The cheese has to become golden brown. |
