Red tomato chutney recipe details
Ingredients
3 kg | tomatoes |
500 g | sugar |
20 g | salt |
1 pinch(es) | paprika powder |
1 pinch(es) | cayenne pepper |
300 ml | white vinegar |
Instructions
Blanch the tomatoes for 30 seconds in fast boiling water. Then place into cold water and peel of their skin. Cut then up and remove the hard cores.Place chopped tomatoes into a saucepan with a very little water and bring to the boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer until thick.
Add all the other ingredients, stirring in well. Continue cooking until the whole mixture is thick, stirring frequently.
Pour into hot jars or bottles, and cover at once.
