Meet the Cook
I’m Colleen Bierstine, The Smart Cookie Cook. Food is my life, my happiness, and my one true love. If I’m not cooking food, I’m eating it. If I’m not eating food, I’m thinking about it. There’s just nothing in this world that affects me like a great slice of thin and cheesy pizza, or the most sinful slice of rich chocolate cake. And the guilt that results? Totally worth it. I cook, I bake; I do it all. I won’t pretend to be an expert; I don’t have formal training (unless you count cooking classes in elementary school). I learned primarily by trial and error, but I also gained knowledge from my mother & grandmother. Honestly, I learned a plethora of valuable tidbits from religiously watching The Food Network. I’ve never been one to believe that you need to go to cooking school in order to know your way around the kitchen. All it takes is passion and practice. I’ve got a natural feel for food & flavors; I know what tastes good.

So, to serve it up for you in one simple slice, I am a self-proclaimed foodie and one smart cookie.

How do you stay so skinny? I love food and believe me, it’s astruggle for me!
Haha, well I try to balance. I eat bad-for-me stuff a couple days a week, and eat really healthy the rest of the week.

I LOVE your blog! I think you’re absolutely adorable….but I cant seem to find you on FB?? Can you add me? From the Little Ferraro Kitchen and do you have Twitter?

Sure I’ll add you! No, I don’t have twitter. I have a hard enough time keeping up w/ my FB lol.
Hi Colleen,
Not sure if you’ll remember me; I graduated from Clinton 2 years ago and we didn’t know each other terribly well. But I stumbled across a reference to your website on Facebook, and I’m very impressed! You have a quality site running here, and you seem to update a lot! That’s very important.
Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you; I love seeing Clinton kids pursuing their passions, particularly artistic ones! Hope your graduation was a blast and that you have a great year at school, wherever you’ve decided to go!
Best,
Nick Orvis ’09
